Rural Nepalese Villager Portraits

92 year old Nepalese woman Mongoli Timilsina. Abandoned by her husband after a few years of their arranged marriage she was never allowed to be with another man. Such is the tradition in Nepal and India. One arranged partner for life and zero pre marital relationships. Although these traditions are now showing signs of flexibility. Most of the Nepali people that I spoke to did not like the idea of our western system allowing multiple partners throughout our life.

Such a devoted mother to her extended family and an extremely hard worker keeping the whole farm household running like clockwork. Living with borderline poverty such a warm and inspiring person I will never forget.
